Acne is the most common skin disorder which predictably
occurs first during the teenage. It is estimated that over 70 percent
adolescents are affected by a recognizable form of acne.
Natural Treatment or Remedies for Acne
Tea tree oil, which is also commonly known melaleuca oil, is
an essential oil that can appear clear in color to a light golden shade. This
natural acne fighting oil has been growing in popularity over the last few
years as an effective alternative to over the counter and prescription blemish
treatments.
Apply Aloe Vera gel or Aloe-Vera juice to the affected area.
Not only is Aloe Vera a great anti-inflammatory agent, it also has
anti-bacterial properties which makes it an ideal home remedy for acne.
Thyme and lemon lotion Boil several sprigs of fresh thyme in
2 cups of water for two minutes and leave to infuse for five. Strain and add
the juice of 1/2 lemon, Use this to rinse the face at least twice a day.
Make this essential mask to get rid of acne fast – take few
drops of essential oil, use a mask base powder like fuller's earth or kaolin
powder and then get some mineral water or rosewater to make a paste. Mix 1
heaped tsp of base powder to few drops of essential oils. Add about 2 tbsp of
the water in, to make a fluid though ideal paste. Apply this onto acne to cure.

Extract juice from fresh mint leaves and use it on the
acne-affected area of the skin/body daily at night. This also works well for
eczema, insect-stings, and scabies. Another way of using mint as a
home remedy for acne is to mix its juice with a little turmeric powder. Leave this mixture
on the affected area for 15 to 30 minutes before washing with clean, tepid
water.
Oregon grape (Mahonia aquifolium) It has antibiotic
properties and helps stimulate the immune system. Take one of the following
three times daily: tea from dried root (2-4 grams); tincture (6-12 ml or 1.5-3
teaspoon); fluid extract (1-2 ml or 0.25-0.5 teaspoon); solid powder of 8-12%
alkaloid content (250-500 mg.).
Fenugreek paste treatment - aside from using its seed to
make curry powder, fenugreek, through its leaves, can be a useful treatment for
acne. Making a paste out of its leaves, you can produce a facemask that can be
applied at night to prevent pimples and blackheads.
Make a paste of fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves. Apply it
over the face every night for 10-15 minutes and washed with warm water. This
will prevent pimples, blackheads, and wrinkles.
Mixing a mask base powder, such as fuller’s earth or kaolin
powder with a few drops of essential oils, making it into a paste using
distilled or filtered water and using it as a face mask will not only clear
acne, but give your skin a smooth and soft texture.
Mix one teaspoon of ground nutmeg with one teaspoon honey
and applying it to the acne areas. This application on the face should be
maintained for 20 minutes and then washing it with cool water will have
effective results. Twice a week on regular basis will show improvement.
